The Source Arts Centre
The Source Arts Centre and Thurles Library share a large, dedicated gallery space.
The Source Arts Centre programmes a range of professional solo and group visual art exhibitions in varying media several times a year. The Source Gallery is jointly programmed by the Artistic Director, Brendan Maher and local artist and visual art advisor to The Source Arts Centre, PJ O’Connell. The Source was delighted to work with Curator in Residence, Annette Moloney in 2015-16. This programme was supported by the Arts Council.
The Source Gallery shows the work of professional artists of national, regional and local interest. It also brings work to Thurles from national collections. The gallery endeavours, where possible, to provide an outreach programme to accompany each show. The outreach programme generally includes a public talk by the artist and an educational element in the form of an artist talk or workshop for local school children.
