Lismore Castle Arts

Lismore Castle Arts is committed to the presentation and promotion of contemporary visual art in Southern Ireland. It hosts exhibitions of international significance alongside a series of smaller exhibitions, projects and events as well as a comprehensive education programme. Visitors are also invited to stroll through the beautiful Gardens at Lismore Castle and enjoy several pieces of contemporary sculpture that have been installed on permanent display.
Since 2011, the exhibition programme at the main gallery has been augmented by the addition of a project space: St Carthage Hall. This gallery is housed in a former church hall and features a year round programme of exhibitions and events, by local, national and international practitioners.

Molesworth Gallery

The Molesworth Gallery is one of Ireland's leading contemporary art galleries, representing some of the most accomplished and exciting artists working in the country today.

We host eight solo and two curated group exhibitons annually at our exhibition space in Dublin’s city centre. Exhibitions are documented in gallery publications ranging from brochures to hardback books. We also collaborate with arts centres and museums to maximise public access to the work of our artists as well as promoting them at international art fairs.

The gallery encompasses the ground and first floors of a large Georgian house in Dublin's city centre. A changing display of work by gallery artists may be viewed in our upstairs exhibition space.

Joinery, The

The Joinery is a contemporary art and project space set up in 2008. Concerned mostly with exhibiting contemporary visual art, recently the space has also been host to a number of experimental live musical performances and sound / performance art

Waterside Theatre

The Waterside Theatre hosts a range of quality arts and entertainment throughout the year such as drama, dance, comedy, live music and children's theatre. It also produces an extensive Education Programme. The newly refurbished facility caters for all ages from pre-school children to senior citizens. With a capacity of 372, free on-site car-parking, disabled access, a full screen cinema, fully licensed cafe bar and lounge bar, this is the perfect venue for evening entertainment or hosting a conference.

Douglas Hyde Gallery

The Douglas Hyde Gallery, founded in 1978, became independent of Trinity College in 1984, and for some years afterwards we were the only publicly-funded gallery in Ireland that regularly exhibited contemporary art.
Our exhibition programme was wide-ranging and eclectic, including shows by major international artists as well as by emerging Irish artists. More recently, the development of contemporary art exhibition programmes by other galleries and museums in Dublin has meant that the Douglas Hyde Gallery's role has changed. While our general direction remains the same, and although we still hold exhibitions by major figures in the contemporary art world, the programme has become more focused than before, frequently engaging with art that has been marginalized, and with artists, both from Ireland and abroad, who have not yet become well-known or who have been overlooked. We also regularly hold small exhibitions of ethnographic and craft artefacts in Gallery 2.
The Douglas Hyde Gallery publishes small books and catalogues that are known and distributed all over the world, and occasionally hosts musical events.

Golden Thread Gallery

The award-winning Golden Thread Gallery re-opened to the public in new premises on Queen Street on Saturday 10 August 2024.


The former Gas Corporation Showroom and Craftworld building at 23-29 Queen Street, Belfast, has been renovated and restored to bespoke specifications to become the gallery’s new city-centre home. Set across two floors, our new venue includes 2 large galleries, a projection room, a Community Participation & Engagement Hub, and Northern Ireland’s first visual art library & archive. Entry to the gallery is free.
Co-Directors Peter Richards and Sarah McAvera and the GTG team look forward to welcoming visitors back to the gallery.

Rubicon Gallery

Rubicon Gallery exhibition space at 10 Saint Stephens Green Dublin was initiated in 1995.

The gallery's core objective is to enable contemporary Irish and International artists to realise and optimise projects in all media through/in the gallery venue or elsewhere.

Rubicon Gallery annually presents ten exhibitions in Dublin, solo-projects in the main with some curated events and produces 4-6 publications.

The Gallery participates in International Art Fairs, commissioning new works and introducing Irish artists in Europe & the Rest of World.

VOID

Void is an artist-led contemporary art space. Void houses two gallery spaces, six studios and education area and a conference room. Void usually has 8 exhibitions per year showing work of established international and Irish artists.

Chester Beatty Library

Described by the Lonely Planet as not just the best museum in Ireland, but one of the best in Europe, the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin is an art museum and library which houses the great collection of manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books and some decorative arts assembled by Sir Alfred Chester Beatty (1875-1968). The Library's exhibitions open a window on the artistic treasures of the great cultures and religions of the world. Its rich collection from countries across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe offers visitors a visual feast. Chester Beatty Library was named Irish Museum of the year in 2000 and was awarded the title European Museum of the Year in 2002.

Egyptian papyrus texts, beautifully illuminated copies of the Qur'an, the Bible, European medieval and renaissance manuscripts are among the highlights of the collection. In its diversity, the collection captures much of the richness of human creative expression from about 2700 BC to the present day.

Photo Museum Ireland

Photo Museum Ireland is the leading voice for photography in Ireland. We are dedicated to fostering a dynamic culture of photographic practice across a broad range of platforms. Established as ‘The Gallery of Photography’ in 1978 by John Osman, the organisation has grown to become one of Ireland’s most loved arts organisations. Our programme of free exhibitions showcases the best of contemporary Irish and international photography. We provide sustained support for artists across the span of their careers and development programmes to bring their work to audiences nationally and internationally. We encourage critical thinking and discussion on photography across our in-house, outreach and online channels - bringing arts experiences to all.

Strategic Development Plan
We plan to relocate to a larger, museum-standard building in the heart of Dublin. This important development will enable us to showcase contemporary Irish photography to international museum standards, expand our artists’ programmes, develop our audiences and grow the National Photography Collection.
