University Art Gallery

The University Art Gallery is located in the Quadrangle and hosts a variety of visually stimulating exhibitions during the academic year. The venue promotes emerging Galway and national artists as well as touring exhibitions from international embassies, cultural organisations and educational institutions. Students, staff and the wider community are invited to visit the gallery and enjoy its varied visual programme.

Bank of Ireland Theatre

The Bank of Ireland Theatre at Áras na Mac Léinn, NUI, Galway is a studio style theatre with a seating capacity of up to 70 in traditional form; 2 rows of which are on the theatre floor. The building is wheelchair accessible and conforms to latest health and safety requirements.

Ballina Arts Centre

Ballina Arts Centre is based in Ballina Co. Mayo, Ireland. The town of Ballina has an urban population of up to 15,000 people, with an additional 30,000 in the hinterland. For a number of years, much work has been done to develop an arts centre for the town. In 2011, that goal was realised when the redeveloped Ballina Arts Centre opened its its doors on Barrett St.
Ballina has strong traditional heritage, encompassing music and dance. This is augmented by a thriving culture of young rock bands and sing-songwriters. The development of Ballina Arts Centre, offers support to visual artists by the provision of a visual arts space, and a growing programme of artists' workshop and masterclasses.
Funders for the project include the Arts Council, Mayo County Council, Ballina Town Council, along with a considerable local contribution. Ballina has been designated as a key locus to ensure equal provision of arts service within the county of Mayo, which spans considerable geographic distances.
Ballina Arts Centre is working towards arts provision to achieve the following aims and objectives:

  • to establish Ballina Arts Centre as a vibrant and successful Arts Organisation.

  • to provided an excellent quality of service to the community.

  • to establish the broadest possible base of funding for Ballina Arts Centre, in order to secure its future.

  • to be a centre of best practice for professional and non-professional artists.

  • to increase participation, enjoyment and awareness of the art.

  • and to establish a wide audience which is a representative of the whole community.


In order to achieve these aims and objectives, the centre plans and programmes across the whole spectrum of art forms and practices, to develop audiences ifor all arts forms. The programme includes:

  • Music development, endeavouring to achieve a balance between the major music forms and genres, including, classical, traditional, jazz, choral, world, folk, blues, etc.

  • Theatre and Dance.

  • Visual Arts, providing a year-long programme of exhibitions, gallery talks, and workshops.

  • Cultural Cinema - through Ballina Film Club and other film events such as Sound+Vision: Ballina Film Festival

  • Literary and educational events.


Ballina Arts Centre is access-driven and participatory in ethos. Since its inception, it has developed and maintained strong links with a number of local community groups.
As part of the Centre's Education programme, the venue presents a programme of workshops, talks, seminars etc. around the exhibition programme.

Galway Arts Centre

Galway Arts Centre manages two buildings both located in the city centre: The Arts Centre at Number 47 Dominick Street is a 3,000 sq ft gallery, showing national and internationl contemporary arts. The gallery is open from Monday – Saturday 10am - 5:30pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. This building also hosts a wide range of activites from classes in art, writing and photography to workshops in drama, music and voice.

Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre

West Cork Arts Centre was established in 1985 in Skibbereen, Co. Cork. It is a publicly funded arts facility that creates opportunities for the people of West Cork to have access to, and engagement with, local and global arts practice of excellence. It supports a multi-disciplinary arts programme with a focus on modern and contemporary visual art . It is a resource and development agency, providing expertise and physical and human resources to assist artists, other arts organisations, groups and individuals to realise arts projects.


It is committed to exploring new and innovative ways of combating the challenges facing audience development and participation, and the development of opportunities for artists, especially in relation to those located in rural communities.
Currently WCAC provides a range of education and community programmes for adults and children at the Centre in Skibbereen and throughout the West Cork region. The unique and enriching opportunity to experience and work with real artworks and live artists is explored through many of its programmes. West Cork Arts Centre places education at the heart of its activities with a wide range of arts workshops, community-based projects, film screenings, seminars, talks and gallery tours on offer throughout the year.
West Cork Arts Centre covers the Skibbereen and Bantry urban and rural area which stretches from the Beara Peninsula in the west, to Clonakilty in the east, from Dunmanway in the north, to the islands of Cape Clear and Sherkin in the south. A considerable number of artists and crafts people from Ireland and abroad are living and working in the area.
Partnerships with other organisations and agencies are formed to deal with this geographical area and this is a vital strategy for realising the objectives of the Centre.

Lavit Gallery

The Cork Arts Society, trading as the Lavit Gallery, was set up, in 1963 by a group wanting to promote the arts in Cork City. Currently, as a not for profit, we support artists through our annual exhibition programme. We showcase the work of Cork-based artists primarily and present work by leading Irish and International names. Through the ambitious programme of solo exhibitions and group shows, we promote both emerging and established artists, in addition to stimulating and challenging Cork audiences.

SOMA Contemporary

SOMA Contemporary is a space for new and exciting art in Waterford city. Conceived and run by artists, the space is a place for people to congregate, show and see new and up-coming artists and their work. The space is located on Lombard street(the old taxation office) in the heart of Waterford city. It is an exciting space and we hope that exhibiting artists find the building can become part of the works they create in it.The space consists of three gallery spaces, a media/video room and a courtyard/garden area. We encourage openness in all manners of art forms and hope to bring to Waterford never before seen artists, along with enabling the rich talent of artists living in the city to show their work. Our main aim is to make art accessible to everyone and allow it to be thought provoking, engaging, exciting, loud and quiet, but most of all, a fun and memorable place for both the viewers and the artists.

Wexford Arts Centre

Located in the 18th century Cornmarket House in central Wexford, Wexford Arts Centre is perfectly located for a lunch time visit and is just a moments stroll from the Bull Ring and Main Street Wexford.


In 1772, Wexford Corporation purchased a piece of property from Mr. John Grogan of Johnstown Castle. Building of a market house commenced and was completed in 1776. The lower windows of today were arched recesses for the traders, a reminder of its market house days. Inside was a magnificent ballroom and supper room. The protestants of Wexford formed the Brunswick club here in 1882. The founder of the Methodists, John Wesley is said to have preached here and recorded in his journal that it was one of the best public rooms he had ever spoken in.
Following renovation, the assembly rooms as they were also known were popular venues for lectures and musical evenings well into this century and people such as Percy French, composer of “The Mountains of Mourne” among other popular songs appeared on a number of occasions. It became the headquarters of Wexford Corporation in the early part of this century and was known as the Town Hall.
It opened its doors as the Wexford Arts Centre in 1974 and has been providing art and entertainment for native and visitor alike ever since.

Talbot Gallery and Studios

Talbot Gallery and Studios is an arts based organization that endeavors to instigate vibrant artistic practice, to persuade and facilitate inspiration, and to act as a public art resource centre.
