KTcontemporary is a unique initiative in contemporary art dedicated to exhibiting work by young, exciting, graduate artists. Set up by Katie Tsouros (26), the ‘pop up’ space in the old ‘Curves’ gym in Donnybrook, Dublin will offer a platform to showcase up-and-coming Irish and international artists and aims to promote authentic art by serious artists who have a real future in the art world.

KTcontemporary offers affordable art that is backed up by an intelligent artistic process and provides an opportunity for people to give vital support to young careers and integrate with the contemporary art world. The gallery exhibits a wide range of work including painting, photography, works on paper, sculpture, street art, video and installation in a rotating program of curated exhibitions. From over 500 submissions, 17 artists based in the UK and Ireland have been selected for representation by KTcontemporary thus far.

In 2011 KTcontemporary produced exhibitions for Microsoft Ireland and Kinsale Arts Week, took part in the PhotoIreland Festival 2011, the Dublin Contemporary Circle Program and VUE: National Contemporary Art Fair at the RHA, Dublin as well as opening various successful solo and group shows at the gallery space throughout the year.

Katie Tsouros holds a BA in Art History and Philosophy from University College Dublin, and a MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London. Prior to establishing her own space she has worked with freelance curatorial firm, Artwise and Sadie Coles HQ gallery in London. In Dublin, she has interned in the exhibitions department of the Irish Museum of Modern Art and worked for the highly respected Rubicon Gallery.
