Aimee Gallagher has an interest in architectural structures and the industrial landscape. Using this as a means of expression and exploration, her current work deals with ideas of beauty. Along with the tension and polarisation between the structured and organic. These concepts are explored through layered silk screen and geometric paper structure hybrids. The work is also explored through various 2d prints.
Alex deRoeck The work deals with notions of Abjection, Temporality, Morality and Anxiety, centering around the public and the private event, through methods of spontaneous decision making and playful innovation emerges unorthodox combinations depicting somewhat of a fictionalized degeneracy. The work mainly consists of large scale monoprinting, found objects, video and collage.
Ciara O’Brien Her work explores escapism through bizarre facts and various printmaking techniques. She is concerned with not only the sublime of what lies beyond ourselves and our world but also our own reactions to it. This has taken her through various techniques such as lithograph, monoprint and drawings.
Ciaran Gallen uses mythology and pop culture as references for his personal ambivalent narrative. The artist uses an expressive sense of catharsis and abjection by recreating his work until he is satisfied. This process uses various mediums such as paint and screen-print, heavily incorporating colour to express emotion.
Clare Ryan attained her Diploma in Fine Art Printmaking from Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA, Singapore) in 2010. She is presently based in Dublin. She works closely with traditional printmaking techniques and has a keen preference for etching and drawing. Interested in animation, Clare also designs and works with media arts and motion graphics. She enjoys reading and writing in her free time, especially fascinated by mythology, storytelling and narrative work.
Eoin O’Reilly explores the idea of surplus labor and the passing of time. His work consists in making records of these events.
Kelsey Dawn Pearson is a Canadian printmaker from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her work reflects on the questionable culture that has become the norm in rural settings, and makes statement on the neglected and depraved. These themes are often camouflaged with colourful scenes and mild humour.
Luke O’Meara His work consists largely of performance, and performative video. His work is concerned with taking intimate and personal instances and presenting them in a minimal, subjective manner.
Melissa Ellis Juxtaposing of the beautiful and the strange, the weird and the sublime, the dark and the unnatural, strange worlds of her own creation. She hopes by a series of made items and prints to describe this concept, to clarify and reinforce, to bring into focus her world and her thoughts. She draws on real and imaginary worlds around her. She examines and explores plants, insects, birds, reptiles, the living and the dead. Producing aquatint etchings and sculptures.
Michelle Halley The duality of life weaves in and out of her work. Exploring Empathy and Peace subtracting from the image/form. Keeping in mind the Zen philosophy of Duality. Looking for Light in the Darkness. Screen printing , 3D sculpture, photography.
Sofya Mikhaylova will exhibit ‘Podelka.Washing Machine’ sculpture constructed from the softest materials describing religious and spiritual beliefs in domestic objects.
Stephen Lau His work feeds from the sub catagories of ambiguity, exploring elements like abstraction and voyeurism that, when layered, create scenes wealthy with confusion. He aims to switch the pre conceived correspondence between the unknown figure and the unknown landscape by placing the unknown figure into the familiar in a bid to create a clash between the real and the unreal.
Sadbh O’Brien Her work attempts to deal with the concept of the impulses of humans and the impacts on themselves and the world around them. She recently is experimenting with short animation films, however also works with screen printing, etching and lithography.
