Transversal III
Evening of dance and performance art, Saturday 17 November, 6 – 10pm
Deirdre Murphy and Fergus Byrne present Transversal III at The Chocolate Factory on Nov. 17th. The event runs from 6 -10pm. It presents an exciting range of all that is contemporary in Dance and Performance art. Deirdre Murphy is a dancer and Fergus Byrne a performance artist; after two successful events at Block T 2010 and Fumbally Court as part of Dublin Dance Festival 2011 this third Transversal, supported by Arts Council Small Festival Funding, presents a unique combination of genres that constitutes a cross disciplinary performance festival in one evening for a price that would normally grant you one show.
The Chocolate Factory is a new creative hub on Kings Inn Street in the former Williams and Woods confectionery factory. From the basement to the top floor you can see performances by Michelle Boule, Nick Bryson & Damien Punch, Alex Conway, Alan Delmar, Robert Jackson, Lisa marie Johnson, Kwyer, Eleanor Lawler, Frances Mezzetti, Katherine O’Malley, Anne Quail, Priscilla Robinson.
Michelle Boule is taking time to present a solo performance while over from New York performing with IMDT. Robert Jackson is travelling from Bilbao especially for the festival. Other artists from Dublin, Cork and Belfast have been visiting the space developing work specifically for the spaces available. This is not proscenium theatre but the creative response to a building with its own history and architectural character. The performances will be unique in this setting.
Tickets available at the door: €10. BYOB. May contain nudity.
