Tom Prendergast: Not Me, Us

Ormston House proudly presents Not Me, Us., an exhibition by Limerick artist Tom Prendergast.
Tom graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2007; the artworks in Not Me, Us span Tom’s twenty years of activity as an artist.
The exhibition features his painting work – portraits and still lifes – that he makes daily. There are works on paper, cut-outs, collages, and invitations to dances. Taken from his home, there are objects, trinkets, and other ephemera, along with the artwork of others from his collection, that he has selected to exhibit alongside his own.
An active member of the local arts community, Tom has exhibited extensively in Limerick. He is a DJ, known for his nights of dancing and his trademark handmade invitations. He is host of The Last Bus Home, a weekly show broadcast on Limerick Community Radio. He has promoted bands, organised exhibitions, led writing classes, and worked with young people in St. Marys Park.
Tom’s work is entwined with his daily life, a life dedicated to making and connecting with others. The exhibition provides a glimpse into his daily rituals and his relationships: to his wife Katie, to the artists he respects and admires, and to the city of Limerick and its inhabitants.
Ormston House invites you to join us to celebrate Tom’s work. There will be an opening reception on Friday 14 July, 7–9pm.
There will be two exhibition tours led by Tom and curator Caimin Walsh on 22 July and 5 August, both at 1pm. On August 12, from 8–10pm, there will be dancing. We hope to see you there.
