Tom Climent: Land and Longing
Thursday 5 May – Saturday 4 June 2022

Solomon Fine Art is delighted to host a much anticipated exhibition of new paintings by celebrated Irish artist Tom Climent. In Land and Longing Climent presents a body of vibrant and highly textured compositions which exist on the borderline of abstraction and representation. These works are intended to act as an open doorway, an invitation to begin a journey through distant, dream-like landscapes.
Climent’s work falls within the tradition of landscape painting while exploring the bridge between real and spirit worlds. Embracing the role of chance and magic in their creation, he allows himself to be guided by each individual painting. His approach is largely intuitive; the act of painting begins a process of discovering unintended connections and relationships all the while continuing his exploration of the richly rewarding interplay between the subconscious emotional world and the physical and logical process of painting.
