The Unfinished Dome: MA Art and Process Show 2013
Opening Reception Friday 29 November at 6pm
CIT Crawford College of Art & Design is proud to present the MA: Art & Process exhibition 2013.
The Unfinished Dome is a metaphor for a pedagogic scenario; an imaginary utopian structure that encapsulates and contains the thoughts and sensations of this situation.
Taking as a point of departure the idea of a dome as structure, a series of connected points that equal a whole, it is synergetic. It represents the circularity of practice, research and peer ecology taught as methodology on the course.
Accompanying the exhibition is a publication which includes the text “The Collective Pause” devised as an explorative dramaturgy event inspired by Ranciere’s text “The Ignorant Schoolmaster”, edited by Ed Krcma, UCC and designed by Niall Sweeney (Pony Ltd.).
Artists include Lisa Cody, Carolyn Collier, Cassandra Eustace, Dominic Fee, Christine Gaughran, Tonia Kehoe, Gentian Lulanaj, Mariela Martin, Michele O’Connor Connolly and Máire O’Mahony.
The exhibition opens on Friday 29th November at 6pm with guest speaker Mary McCarthy, Director, The National Sculpture Factory, Cork.
