The Poetry Project – ‘Heart’s Loop’ Projecting Nightly from 5pm to Midnight

From February 14, The Art Park, Dublin’s largest free outdoor visual arts screen, plays host to The Poetry Project – ‘Heart’s Loop’.

Launched on Valentine’s Day, ‘Hearts Loop’ considers the allotropes of love through 10 poems written by eminent writers from the 1800s to present.

The selected poems are each projected with visuals designed by motion graphic team Noho. Featured works are by Emily Dickinson, W.B.Yeats, Rudyard Kipling, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, D.H. Lawrence, Robert Frost, Patrick Kavanagh, Fleur Adcock and John Montague. The projection will look at the cycle of love that encompasses lovers, children, family, friends, place, animals and God through all the associated and varied emotions. The project will put particular emphasis on poems that are included in the Leaving Certificate curriculum for 2011/2012 and runs in a 15-minute loop.

The Art Park is located to the rear of The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) on Mayor Street Upper. Car Parking is available to the rear of the CCD or take the Red Luas line to the Spencer Dock stop that is adjacent to the Park. Wrap up warm!

Launched in December 2010, the Art Park is a community, public art and recreational space for the purposes of a local, national and international contemporary visual arts programme. Mediums include digital media, video art, animation, film, photography and literature. The recreational space of this urban park will provide an additional platform for outdoor sculpture, exhibitions and community initiatives.

The Art Park was established by Treasury Holdings, Spencer Dock the Dublin Dockland Development Authority and has an open submission policy for selected projects
