Marking one year since securing a long-term lease at 9-10 Patrick Street, Ormston House will launch our 2022 programme with The Limerick Show.

The Limerick Show aims to celebrate Limerick’s artistic community, showcasing thirty-one visual artists, from early career to established practitioners. Spanning painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, printmaking and video, The Limerick Show highlights the rich variety of work currently being made by artists in the city and county.

Limerick-based artists were invited to propose artworks through our free Membership Scheme, and were selected by Niamh Brown and Caimin Walsh from Ormston House, and Norway-based artist and curator, Jet Pascua. Reflecting on his experience, Jet said:

“Coming from a relatively small city, I find there are a lot of similarities between Tromsø, where I am based, and Limerick. The sense of being part of a community, addressing its complexity, is very present in many of the applications that we assessed, and it is also central to how Ormston House operates. I feel very grateful, and consider it a privilege, to have had the opportunity to see the work of artists based in Limerick, and to work with the curators of Ormston House.”

Through The Limerick Show, Ormston House is delighted to introduce audiences to a diverse range of artistic practices, and to continue our commitment to supporting artists and arts workers in Limerick.
