The Golden Thread Gallery is delighted to present the DAS Short Programme of moving image works. This programme features work produced by artists in residence at the Digital Arts Studios. Including artists who have been living in Belfast for a long time and work by visiting international artists. Various locations appear as subject, character, set or place. Each artist focuses on location for different purposes and with varying results, but each discovers something about their chosen location through their way of looking.

The programme:

Sylvia Javen, Finland • ‘The Birds’ (2014)

Nicky Larkin, Ireland • ‘The Belfies’ (2014)

Laurie Sumiye, USA • ‘Glass House’ (2012)

Sylvia Javen, Finland • ‘Conflict’ (2014)

Jacqueline Holt, United Kingdom • ‘Portaferry’ (2011)

David Prince, USA • ‘Enclave’ (2012)

DAS promotes the convergence of art and technology and provides invaluable access to the resources essential to the production of and engagement with digital arts. It provides access to digital imaging and audio equipment and software and delivers training in their use. It runs a full programme of national and international artists residencies, public talks, exhibitions and screenings as well as facilitating outreach activities.
