Ian Pollock: James Joyce | Summer Group Exhibition | Saturday 25 July – Sunday 30 August 2015 | Gormleys Fine Art, Dublin

Gormleys Fine Art presents its annual summer exhibition, featuring new paintings and sculpture by leading Irish artists alongside some of Ireland’s most promising emerging artists.

Gallery I will feature traditional works by Kenneth Webb, Eileen Meagher, James Brohan, Eugene Conway, John Behan, Ronan Goti, Charles Harper, Brian Ballard, Eamonn Ceannt and Ken Hamilton.

Gallery II will showcase modern and contemporary work by Simon Mc Williams, Peter Monaghan, Stephen Johnston, Gordon Harris, Sean Cotter, Linda Plunkett and Eleanor Mc McCaughey. In 2014 Eleanor won the Conor Prize for best figurative work at RUA followed by K&M Evans Painting Prize at the RHA in 2015. We are delighted to welcome Eleanor to the gallery along with Linda Plunkett and Mark Reddin.

A number of new works by sculptor Ian Pollock will also be on display. Pollock was recently commissioned to complete a life size sculpture of James Joyce in Dublin’s Temple Bar. The maquette for the sculpture (pictured) is included in the exhibition along with new works. During the opening of the exhibition Pollock will discuss his work and show a video of the process of completing the Joyce sculpture, giving viewers a unique insight into the process of sculpture.

Drinks and canapés will be served at the opening which takes place on Saturday 25 July from 2 to 5pm and all our welcome.
