On this occasion, Strange Attractor will be situated in the intimate surroundings of the Library Room at the Crawford Art Gallery. The format of the performance suggests its social functionality: the players are gathered around the library table, facing each other, with the performance serving as a means for their interaction. Members of the audience are invited into the room one by one, to experience this gathering for a brief period of time in close proximity. The performance will also be streamed live via audio and video into one of the larger gallery spaces, where seasonal refreshments will be served.

After their summer series of successful performances and installations at Studio Soto, Boston, and Harvestworks, New York, Strange Attractor return to the Crawford Art Gallery for this special improvised live sound art event featuring Boston artist EL Putnam.

EL (Emily Lauren) Putnam is an interdisciplinary artist who works predominately in photography, video, and performance art. Just as she utilizes a variety of media in her artistic practice, her work draws from multiple themes and sources, including travel and tourism, materialism, and explorations of gender and sexuality. These ideas become intertwined through notions of personal and cultural circumspection. She currently resides in the Boston area.
