Thursday 30 April – Saturday 23 May 2026
Orla de Brí, Source, bronze, unique, 270 x 127 x 87cm | Site Unseen: Garden & Outdoor Sculpture | Thursday 30 April – Saturday 23 May 2026 | Solomon Fine Art | Orla de Brí, Source, bronze, unique, 270 x 127 x 87cm | the photo captures a sculpture of a curled-up figure with a leafless tree growing out of their back; the bronze is patinated to seem closer to silver, though at the tops of the branches it looks more like gold; the sculpture is on a tidily mown lawn, and behind it (in terms of where the photographer is standing) there is a tree full of dark-red leaves, and the effect is that has leaves; it is sunny, and a grand house looks out over the lawn

Solomon Fine Art is delighted to present a unique exhibition of garden sculpture by artists; John Behan, Orla de Brí, Rowan Gillespie, Eilis O’Connell & Anthony Scott.

Site Unseen brings together five Irish artists at the forefront of contemporary sculpture and who are renowned for their public and outdoor sculptural projects. The exhibition will include one large scale sculpture by each of these artists which has been specially developed for outdoor installation. Created in bronze and steel these art works can withstand the Irish weather and are suitable for display in gardens, patios and courtyards.

Featured works include two-meter tall, Corten steel Brehon Judge by Rowan Gillespie, an artist best known for his Famine figures on Custom House Quay in Dublin. John Behan whose iconic Famine Ships can be seen at the National Famine Memorial in County Mayo and the United Nations building in New York will present an elegant flock of bronze birds. Both Orla de Brí and Anthony Scott present striking figurative works while Eilis O’Connell’s Quarter Drop Cone demonstrates meticulous engineering and brings an element of abstraction to the show.
