Developed in collaboration with Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, Frank Bloem, Grace Alice O’Shea, Catherine Eugale, Billy Kemp and Emile Conway, Love beyond the species and the sexual continues Siobhán’s imaginative and deeply considered inquiry into multi-species intimacy. The project builds upon Siobhán’s distinctive practice – making interconnected investigations into the workings of our world and imaginatively engaging with environmental issues with critical awareness, conceptual rigour and humour. It proposes new forms of sensory and material storytelling, culminating in sculptural and participatory environments that will form the basis of a major solo exhibition at Uillinn accompanied by a dynamic public engagement programme. The development of this work has been supported by several residencies at Uillinn in recent years, each one contributing meaningfully to Siobhán’s research, collaborative practice, and the development of her unique visual language.
