Second Sight: The David Kronn Collection | Saturday 2 August – Sunday 9 November 2014 | IMMA

Second Sight is drawn from the exceptional collection of photography amassed by Dr. David Kronn which is a promised gift to the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The David Kronn Collection comprises more than 550 photographs ranging in from 19th century Daguerreotypes; icons of modern photography Edward Weston and August Sander; as well as works by contemporary photographers such as Trine Sondergaard or Simon Norfolk.

In 2011, IMMA staged the first exhibition from this collection which featured works by many modern masters including Irving Penn, Harry Callahan, Diane Arbus and Robert Mapplethorpe. Second Sight marks the donation of 50 works to IMMA and will be shown alongside a display of work by international photographers with a particular focus on Graciela Iturbide (Mexico); Doug Dubois (USA); Daido Moriyama (Japan); Evelyn Hofer (Germany); and Pieter Hugo (South Africa).
