The Municipal Gallery in dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire is delighted to host the 161st Royal Photographic Society International Photography Exhibition (RPS IPE 161).

Held every year since 1854, this is the longest standing exhibition of its kind in the world. The RPS IPE 161 is a celebration of photography today, showcasing the best of contemporary photography from established and emerging photographers.  It offers an insight into current trends and subjects at a time when photography and the moving image have never been more relevant to the human experience; and also provides a platform for new generations of photographers.  The exhibition features 100 images by 54 international photographers selected from an open-call which attracted over 7000 entries from professional and amateur photographers from over 60 countries including UK, USA, Australia, Brazil, Russia and Indonesia. This inspiring exhibition comprises a wide range of photographic genres from portraiture and landscape to documentary photography addressing contemporary issues as well as personal stories.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a dynamic Learning Programme organised by Claire Halpin and will include talks, guided tours and a range of photography related workshops. For further detailswww.dlrcoco.ie/arts.

The exhibition and tour is organised by the Royal Photographic Society, Bristol, and following the exhibition at Municipal Gallery, dlr Lexicon, it will tour to Hull International Photo Festival 4-27 October 2019.
