January 2017 will see the Dr. Tony Ryan gallery open with an exhibition of works selected from the RHA Collection. Once elected, Members of the Academy are required by statute to present the Academy with a diploma piece for the collection.
Over the years, along with gifts and donations received gratefully and some acquisitions, the Academy now houses a collection, which is a reflection of the proud history of the Royal Hibernian Academy, with works dating back as far as William Ashford’s Lover’s Leap, The Dargle River, 1796 to the more recent Icarus Falling, 2015 by John Behan RHA.
