Plinth Politics: RHA School Talks
Wednesday 29 January – Wednesday 11 March 2020
The RHA School Public Talks Series examines aspects of visual culture in the context of Irish Contemporary Art. Plinth Politics is a series of public talks that invites artists to talk about their practice with a particular focus on the agency of the sculptural object. The physical encounter with the three dimensional art object, an encounter which is both tactile and real, has been a persistent pursuit for artists and audience engagement in the digital age when meaning and content is migrating to the virtual realm. Artists have used the sculptural object to assert power and presence in both overt and elliptical ways.
