Mimmo Paladino, Terno Treno, mixed media, 2008, 76 x 57 cm | Paper Works | Thursday 1 February – Saturday 9 March 2024 | Hillsboro Fine Art | Image: Mimmo Paladino, Terno Treno, mixed media, 2008, 76 x 57 cm | the support – possibly paper – is painted pale greyish blue, though in fact there are layers of underpainting that complicate the coloration; top middle there is a piece of paper glued on, with some of the background colour overlapping onto it; the piece of paper itself has the numbers 3, 5 and 7 drawn or printed in black at the top, with straight lines and blue-black-coloured trapezoid shapes over the rest of the paper; below this piece of aper are another two, though mostly functioning as one piece, with three horizontal stripes painted in darkish bluish yellowey grey towards the top, with the lowermost stripe partly occluded by a head in profile, painted in black silhouette, which occupies most of the rest of the joint pieces of paper
