Padraig Cunningham, Caoimhe Kilfeather, Nollaig Molloy: Extract
Friday 27 January – Saturday 1 April 2023
This exhibition looks at deep spaces and resources we draw from, it will explore the physical space of underground systems, materials found and extracted there, as well as the human relationship with these particular sites that tend to be a realm of other matter rather than a human space.
On Friday February 17th at 6.30pm, as part of this exhibition, Nollaig Molloy will present ‘Mining An Archive’, her research carried out in residence at Urbane Künste Ruhr, Germany. In Mining an archive Nollaig will present her continuous and ongoing interest in creating links between landscape, nature and archives. She will speak about her video work ‘Worth Your Salt’ (2020), installed in the arts centre’s gallery space and her recent residency in the mining trade union archive of Das Haus der Geschichte des Ruhrgebiets in Bochum, Germany; a research residency facilitated by Urbane Kunste Ruhr. Date of Nollaig’s talk to be confirmed.
