Outside In: The Art of Inclusion is a unique, collaborative project. The outcome of a partnership with the Crawford Art Gallery, CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, Mayfield Arts Centre/Newbury House and Cork City Council, Outside In: The Art of Inclusionwill showcase the artwork of over 50 artists working in supported studio settings.The exhibition will spread over three venues across Cork City from mid-September until the end of October this year; Crawford Art Gallery located in the heart of the city, the Atrium of the City Hall and CIT Wandesford Quay Gallery.

Artists from Creativity Explored in San Francisco, HAI of New York, KunstwerkplaatsfromAmsterdam, Rocket Artists (Brighton) as well as Kcat (Kilkenny), St Raphaels (Youghal), Glasheen Artists Studio group (Cork) and Cùig (Mayfield, Cork) will present an extensive international collection of truly invigorating work that highlights the talent of these artists.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication, discussions and workshops with participating artists, aiming to connect with a diverse audience through the Crawford Gallery’s access and outreach programme and CIT Crawford College of Art & Design’s academic programme.

It is an ambitious undertaking, both in scale and intent, aiming to bring to public awareness the richness and variety of artistic practice created by artists who work in supported studio settings, often placed at the margins of society, but who are making an increasingly important contribution to the contemporary art world.
