New Works – Waterford Art Group Annual Exhibition
The Waterford Art Group formed over fifty years ago by local artists who wanted to celebrate creativity, share knowledge and learn new skills. Since then, the Waterford Art Group has been encouraging and supporting each other to produce high quality art work which often draws inspiration from the Waterford landscape. Artist Esther Heffernan, discussing the variety of artistic styles within their new exhibition, suggests that ‘the divergence in technique and style leads to an exhibition that has something to evoke most viewers’.
The opening reception of this exhibition coincides with the opening of a group exhibition of paintings by West-Waterford artist collective, the River Barn Artists, and the opening of the Waterford Film Festival.
Visitors to the opening reception can enjoy live music performances by Senza Voce, an instrumental group currently making a splash in the festival scene in the South East. Utilising Fretless Bass and Fingerstyle Guitar, the duo will play well known film scores including music by Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, and many more.
