Michael Corrigan: Visions and Dreams
In 1978 Michael had his first solo exhibition in the Teachers Club, Parnell Square, Dublin. Then married and with a family to support, he concentrated on his business of Sign writing and so had very little time for painting. Now retired and after 38 years since his first exhibition, he is delighted to have the chance to show his latest work.
“In the past I painted mainly traditional landscapes or scenes from country life. Now that I have retired and in the twilight years of my life, my mind turns to the spiritual. I am intrigued by thoughts and visions in dreams. However it is clear from the paintings that nature still fascinates me.
I often put paint on canvas not knowing where it will lead to. Colour and shapes conjure up thoughts and I go with what I feel at the time, maybe a vision from a dream will dictate the final outcome or a thought from times past.” Michael Corrigan
Visions and Dreams is an exhibition of mixed media paintings. Oil paint, water based paint, and bitumen on board or canvas.
