Meaning In Mulitples: Contemplations on Risograph printing

Meaning in Multiples: Contemplations on Risograph printing is a process-based research project output led by Kate Brangan and Isobel Rose Grange, produced in the NCAD Gallery from 29 October — 06 November 2025, that includes a series of workshops, public talks, and roundtable discussions, within a generative exhibition space.
Through hosting this live, discursive gathering, the aim is to encourage contemplation of Risograph printing, to increase awareness around the capabilities of the machine, and to develop the conversation among a diverse group of participants and audiences within NCAD and beyond.
Inviting participants to come together to contemplate the Risoprinter is the central theme of the discussions and work, asking how the Risograph Printer acts as a conduit for enchantment, collaboration, material thinking, and resistance within contemporary design practice and design education.
Two visiting guests will join the project over the course of the event: Johanna Maierski of Colorama, a Berlin-based project space that publishes art books, produces Riso and publishing projects, and runs educational programs around self-publishing, printing and binding; and Etta Voorsanger-Brill, a researcher and designer working with the transformative possibilities of printmaking, focusing on Risograph printing.
