Opening Reception Thursday 24 April, 6 – 8pm

Taylor Galleries is excited to present Nowhere, Now, Here, a new solo exhibition by artist Louise Neiland. It features a series of captivating landscapes that blur the boundaries between memory, time, and place.

Nowhere, Now, Here, explores the intangible spaces where personal experiences intersect with the external world. Neiland’s paintings do not depict specific locations but rather exist in a liminal space—a place between reality and abstraction. These works reflect fragments of landscapes that the artist has encountered over the past few years, capturing moments of transition, change, and stillness in a visual diary format.

The title of the exhibition, Nowhere, Now, Here, captures the tension within Neiland’s practice. “Nowhere” evokes a sense of the undefined, elusive, or lost, while “Now, Here” emphasizes the presence of the current moment. In these works, time is fluid; the landscapes shift between the real and the imagined, the known and the unknown.

Through this body of work, Neiland invites viewers to experience a reflection on memory and perception, creating spaces that feel familiar yet distant. The paintings are more than just representations of physical places—they are emotional landscapes that resonate with personal histories and universal experiences.
