NCAD Gallery Incubation Residency 2024 awardee is artist filmmaker Louis Scully who will be resident in the Gallery space from June to September 2024.

NCAD Gallery is delighted to introduce Louis Scully as the resident practitioner in the gallery space from June to September 2024 for a research & development period of his practice and recent graduate work Empathising with the Enemy, a filmwork which features nine Palestinian and Israeli activist interviews’. The gallery space will be used as a process-based workspace and field research platform. During his time at the gallery Scully will continue to connect with Palestinian and Israeli activists working towards ending the occupation and achieving peace and equal rights for everyone between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea to inform his work.

Empathising with the Enemy interviewees are Noor A’Wad, Tom Mehager, Naser Odat, Mohamad Jamous, Ofer Shorr, Rana Salman, Danielle Cantor, Rav Hanan Schlesinger and Or. This work is made manifest through a combination of modern storytelling processes and traditional media such as analogue photography and film.
