Locale #2 | Thursday 8 November – Sunday 18 November 2018 | A4 Sounds Gallery

A4 Members’ & Neighbours’ Show 2018

Locale #2 is the second in a series of exhibitions responding to the local area and home of the A4 Sounds Studios. A4’s locale is North Inner-City Dublin, specifically Dorset Street and its surrounding streets. This exhibition is the continuation of a conversation between our members, our neighbours and the local area.

Locale #2 started with a walking tour led by local historian and our neighbour John Seery. Together our members and neighbours walked the immediate streets of St Joseph’s Parade, Frederick Street North, Hardwick Street, Temple Street and Eccles Street sharing stories, learning more about our local history and discussing current political issues including the housing crisis and those responding to it with direct actions.

Time to be Home is a selection of work by 17 studio members, 4 neighbours, and 1 anonymous work submitted to us. The show looks at the landscape of our home through architecture, information, migration, identity and politics both structural and social.
