Leviathan
Saturday 8 September – Wednesday 24 October 2018
Leviathan: A mythical, biblical sea monster, the exhibition explores our primal and still current fear of darkness, or that which lies outside our experiences. Of what lurks beyond the door. A fear of the ‘other’ and a fear of ourselves becoming the ‘other’ infect us our tendency to imagine monsters and corrupt our collective memory. Curated by Gregory McCartney the exhibition is an exploration of darkness, actual, mythical and metaphorical, with work by Hiraki Sawa, David Haughey, Stuart Cairns and Conor McFeely.
A free bus will run between Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast and MCAC, Portadown on the evening of the opening. Leaves: 6.45pm. Returns: 9pm.
