Kanreki
Saturday 29 May – Saturday 19 June 2021
――― Venue + online ―――
Graphic Studio Gallery is delighted to present Kanreki, an exhibition of mokuhanga prints.
The exhibition is a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Graphic Studio Dublin. ‘Sixty’ is a magical number in Japanese culture. Kan means return or cycle and reki depicts the calendar. It is a celebration of being reborn or of a new beginning. In Japan, Kanreki is traditionally symbolised by the colour red. Each of the invited artists have used red in their mokuhanga prints. The work presented here was initially exhibited at the Model Sligo at the end of 2020.
