James Merrigan is a mixed-media and video installation artist based in Dublin. He was granted the Irish Residential Studio Award at Red Stables for 2011 / 2012, which includes this opportunity to devise an exhibition at The LAB. He received a BA in Fine Art at IADT (2004), and an MFA at NCAD (2008); and was awarded the NCAD Graduate Award (2008). He has exhibited at Queen Street Studios, Belfast (2007); thisisnotashop (2008); Temple Bar Gallery and Studios (2008); FOUR (2008); Royal Hibernian Academy (2010); G126 (2010); Mermaid Arts Centre (2010); Occupy Space (2011); and is a published writer on art. Current projects include the creation of an online art criticism journal called +BILLION- and the co-curated exhibition (with Robert Armstrong) Making Familiar at Temple bar Gallery and Studios.
