Jacqueline Wylie: Rumpelstiltskin Revisited
You are invited to the launch of ‘Rumpelstiltskin Revisited’ by Jacqueline Wylie – the Arts & Disability Forum’s contribution to this year’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival. The launch will be from 5-7pm, with light refreshments available. It will be at the ADF Gallery on Royal Avenue.
Jacqueline Wylie is an Arts Council ACES grant recipient for 2016. She uses wool, photography, video, text and social media to create work that is tactile and inviting, but often visually disturbing. The work offers a reflection of how the artist views the world – as a dyslexic, dancing blur.
Following the launch, the show will be open to the public from Friday 29th April to Friday 10th June and there will be an artist’s Conversation with Jacqueline on Thursday 19th May at 1pm.
Gallery opening hours are Tuesday to Friday 11am-3pm. Admission is free and group visits are very welcome: please arrange with ADF staff in advance. There will be participation opportunities during the show – look out for booking information on Facebook and Twitter.
If you want BSL or audio description for either the launch or the Conversation, please ensure you let us know by 21st April. To confirm you must email admin1@adf.ie or phone 028 9023 9450. Clicking your attendance on Facebook is not a firm enough commitment!
For people who have epilepsy, we want to warn you that the work’s visual effect has potential for triggering. It hasn’t happened so far but please do proceed with care.
