IRLDADA
IRLDADA: 201916 is a book and collaboration with Ella de Búrca, Michaële Cutaya, and Jim Ricks, with new work by Tom Molloy. It will be launched in the Sculpture Hall at the Hugh Lane Dublin City Gallery. The launch will include a short project overview by Jim Ricks, and performances by Michaële Cutaya and Ella de Búrca:
THE MECHANICS OF CHANCE is a three-way multi-lingual reading – in Irish, French and English – conceived and performed by Deborah Madden, Jim Ricks, Siuán Ní Dhochartaigh and Michaële Cutaya. Irish translation by Deirbhle Ivory. (Approx 15 minutes)
PIROUETTE 2019. You are not passive, you are the site of, and the producer of, your sensations. I just never chose to see it. A performative gesture with a ballerina orbiting discourse about cyclicality and the act of seeing.
IRLDADA: 201916 was originally born of the idea to re-frame the 2016 centenary Easter Rising events (which is also the centenary of Dada) and the project grew into an experimental exhibition, We Only Want the Earth!, with a series of events and performances unfolding every week for 3 months from February – April 2018 in San Francisco, California. This book is the final work.
Copies of IRLDADA: 201916 will be for sale at a reduced price. This publication is supported by Culture Ireland, Southern Exposure (San Francisco, USA), Adobe Books (San Francisco, USA), and the Hugh Lane.
