Continuous Drift is a public sound installation by Sven Anderson in which anyone can use their phone to control different compositions that play back from eight loudspeakers integrated into the retractable umbrellas covering Meeting House Square. Launched in July 2015 with contributions from 21 Irish and international artists and collectives, Continuous Drift is expanding in 2016 to include newly commissioned works.
Continuous Drift was commissioned by Dublin City Council as part of the Dublin City Public Art Programme with funding from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government. An Introduction to Work and Energy is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland through the Curator Residence Scheme.
