Meath County Council Arts Office is delighted to present Going Solo ’16, an exhibition of work by past Going Solo Award winners: Aileen Hamilton (2001), Marc Corrigan (2002) Darran Smyth (2005), Carol O’Connor (2009), Sarah Standing (2011) and Kate Byrne (2014).

Since its introduction the Meath County Council Going Solo Visual Arts Award has showcased some of the counties finest young and emerging talent. The award which provided recipients with a three week solo exhibition at the Toradh Gallery or Solstice Arts Centre plus a bursary towards costs has proven to be an important stepping stone for Meath artists in their career progression. Winners of the award have gone on to careers in many areas of the visual arts both at home and abroad.

Going Solo ’16 is an exhibition of work by a selection of past winners, in response to the events of 1916.
