Giath Taha: Another Day in Aleppo | Friday 26 October – Monday 3 December 2018 |

KAMERA ∞, in collaboration with the Arts Department of Wexford County Council and Wexford Arts Centre, is very pleased to invite you to the opening of our new exhibition, with works by Syrian Photographer, Giath Taha.

In association with War Changes Its Address: The Aleppo Paintings, Syrian photojournalist Giath Taha will present Another Day in Aleppo, a selection of his photographic work in Kamera 8 Gallery in Wexford Town. Exploring the complexities and human cost of civil conflict, Taha’s work is both harrowing and poignant. Focusing intimately on those attempting to survive through unimaginable violence and anguish in the destroyed shell of their home, this exhibition allows the public to see through their eyes.  Portraying loss, desperation, fear, and even childhood innocence, Taha has captured the essence of Syrian daily life in the wake of severe conflict.

Taha studied applied arts and photography at the Waled Izzat Institute in Damascus and has worked for a number of NGO’s and international news agencies, including Reuters. His photographs have been featured in publications as The New York Times and The Washington Post.

An accompanying exhibition by Brian Maguire, War Changes Its Address: The Aleppo Paintings, is at Wexford County Council, Carricklawn, Wexford until Monday 3 December.
