Elinor O’Donovan: Metametamorphosis

Saturday 24 January – Saturday 14 March 2026
Elinor O’Donovan: Metametamorphosis | Saturday 24 January – Saturday 14 March 2026 | SIRIUS | Image: a fairly typical photo of a relatively mountainous area in Ireland (if it is in Ireland), though the clouds are dramatic behind the hill in the distance; pleasant sunshine; a valley; rocky-and-grassy foreground; grazed out of it; but then there is a sort of buzzing floating exploding collection of images top centre and whole constellation of circular images that are possible satellites to it; they hold photos of faces, landscapes, other stuff
Launch Event Saturday 24 January, 2 – 4pm • Elinor O’Donovan in conversation with Davey Moor • Elinor O’Donovan and Davey Moor, curator at the Royal Hibernian Academy, discuss the exhibition’s themes and key works, as well as the politics and aesthetics informing O’Donovan’s practice.

Elinor O’Donovan is an artist based in Dublin. Her practice spans moving image, installation, and digital collage, and investigates the construction of meaning within popular culture. This exhibition features a new a film and related prints, drawings, and objects inspired by Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis (1915) and the iconography and narratives associated with The Beatles. The works utilise visual tropes to merge Kafka’s absurdist perspective with the enduring influence of The Beatles in collective memory.

This exhibition is produced by SIRIUS and curated by Miguel Amado, Director.
