Sunday 11 January, 9am – 6pm

Found Sound (Lost At Sea) 11.1.11 is the title of a sound installation by Danny McCarthy and will be presented at the Crawford Art Gallery this Sunday, 11 January from 9 am to 6 pm during which time the work will sound intermittently.

The work was created as a result of the artist’s interest in acoustic ecology and commemorates the loss of the sound of the foghorn from Irish Lighthouses and the Irish coast of the 11 January, 2011 on which date they ceased to sound.
