Clare O’Connor: Energetic Labyrinths

Energetic Labyrinths is a vivid exploration of movement, consciousness, and creative power through the work of Clare O’Connor — an award-winning multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice spans abstract painting, printmaking, photography, and wearable art.
A graduate of IADT with degrees in both Design Communications and Visual Arts Practice, O’Connor’s creative path has evolved from graphic design to a deeply intuitive and layered visual art practice.
Clare’s work reflects a deepening curiosity about the subconscious mind, energetic expression, and the interplay of colour, form, and feeling. Created through an instinctive process, each work balances chance with intention, spontaneity with structure. Her dynamic and intuitive paintings are layered compositions of stripes and patterns, clashes of organic and organised forms and juxtapositions of mark and void. They evolve to become visual fields that pulse with rhythm and vitality. They invite viewers to step inside, to trace the twists and turns of colour and consciousness, to reconnect to the here and now, to feel vibrant, uplifted and creatively alive.
Rooted in her fascination with the labyrinth as a symbol of the inner world, this exhibition reflects Clare’s long-standing interest in self-development, personal navigation, and empowerment. Her art — described as energetic, tactile, and multi-dimensional — offers more than visual stimulation; it opens a space for reflection, mindfulness, and transformation.
At a time when many of us are navigating uncertainty and seeking grounding, Energetic Labyrinths offers an invitation to slow down and turn inward. Clare’s paintings resonate with today’s focus on wellbeing and embodiment, creating spaces for resilience and renewal by transforming abstract forms into portals for introspection and empowerment. Whether through her canvases or her wearable art brand, Clare’s mission is clear: to uplift, to empower, and to communicate the unseen. With Energetic Labyrinths, she invites us to journey inward — and to emerge more connected to our own creative force.
