Patricia Hurl and Therry Rudin: swansong, video still, work in progress | Catch the He(Art) | Friday 16 May 2014 | Mermaid Arts Centre

Friday 16 May, 5:30 to 7pm • Discussion with the artists Particia Hurl, Mary Kelly, James King and Therry Rudin at Mermaid Arts Centre, chaired by curator Valerie Connor.

Mermaid Arts Centre, as part of Bealtaine, welcome the touring residency Catching the He(Art). Bealtaine Festival is about celebrating creativity as we age and takes place across Ireland for the month of May each year.

Curator Michelle Browne has invited four artists, Particia Hurl, Mary Kelly, James King and Therry Rudin, to come together over the month of May to explore their motivation to continue making work in later life. Catch the He(Art) offers this group of artists the time and space to reflect on their ways of making art in older age.

There will be a discussion with the four artists at Mermaid Arts Centre, chaired by curator Valerie Connor, on 16 May 5.30pm. The discussion is open to the public and all are welcome.
