Bridget Flinn: Sunshine & Showers

Solomon Fine Art is delighted to host an exhibition of paintings by Irish artist, Bridget Flinn. This new body of works on canvas captures familiar features and landmarks in the Irish landscape.
Following her previous solo exhibition which celebrated the changing cityscape near the artist’s Dublin home and studio, Flinn’s focus now expands to include rural Ireland and the characterful landmarks and features of regions frequently visited by the artist. Lighthouses, mill buildings and fields of hay bales, familiar sites of Kilkenny, Kerry and North Mayo, are captured in Flinn’s lively and energetic style.
Flinn’s paintings are distinctive for their semi-abstracted, close-cropped representation. Using a variety of tools such as brushes, card and palette knives she achieves a loose and spontaneous quality, while retaining a harmonious balance of colour, composition and light. Varying in scale, Bridget’s works are lively and expressive with a skilful sense of depth and perspective.
Bridget Flinn studied Fine Art at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and later at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London. She has exhibited widely in Ireland, including the Annual Exhibitions at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Ulster Academy. Her paintings hang in the collections of the Office of Public Works and Blackrock Hospice as well as featuring in many private collections.
