Brian Hegarty: I’ll Be Your Mirror

Brian Hegarty: I’ll Be Your Mirror | Friday 9 September – Sunday 2 October 2016 | Royal Hibernian Academy

My current work appropriates used vinyl record sleeves to create new visual possibilities derived from their original design intent. Through deconstructing, inverting and reformatting I am exploring visual juxtapositions, chance connections and spatial relationships. Some of these new compositions open out disjointed narratives, where snippets of the recognisable are aside un-coded texts, signs and symbols. Some tend towards the abstract while other works aim to re-contextualise the original vinyl jacket.”  Brian Hegarty.
