Brían Crotty: Do You Recognize Me

BRÍAN CROTTY was born in Cork City, Ireland in 1981. He received a B.A honours degree in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design (2007) where he was awarded the Ciarán Langford memorial prize. Subsequently, he received a Masters of Fine Art from University of Arts London, Wimbledon College of Art (2009). His work has been included in a number of international exhibitions (The Open West, Cheltenham, 2010, Melt Art Fair, London 2011).
Crotty’s work has been influenced greatly upon immigrating to New York and returning to Ireland in his youth. His work is primarily expressed through the medium of paint. His current works build on concepts such as the phenomenology of time and is indebted to the history of art and common culture rituals.
He is currently a member of the Backwater Artist Group. He now lives and works in Cork City.
