Blue Moon Lost Wednesdays | Wednesday 11 February 2015 | Royal Hibernian Academy

Wednesday 11 February, 6 – 10:30pm

HOG ‘N’ POP and the RHA, in association with Blue Moon, present the latest in the exciting events series: Blue Moon Lost Wednesdays.

On Wednesday 11 February, people are invited to lose themselves in magnificent Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) for a night of spectacular Valentine’s fun and frivolity, showcasing art, comedy, live bands and food while Dublin’s top DJs provide the soundtrack for what promises to be an electrifying evening. Guests are advised to leave their inhibitions at the door and immerse themselves in games, mini-shows, giveaways and get ready for lots of surprises and laughter.

The night kicks off with the opportunity to join Director led walking-talking tours of the current shows – Amelia Stein RHA’s sumptuous, black and white photographic exhibition Erris, the subtle paintings of up-and-coming artist Mollie Douthit, a look at new paintings by Nick Miller winner of the Hennessy Portrait Prize 2014, the RHA New Acquisitions and the work of Micheal Cullen RHA. Finally there will be a chance to experience, with artist Mark Garry‘s phenomenal and unique show, A New Quiet in which sound replaces word to take the audience to new levels of understanding in this beautifully arranged series of work.

After this you won’t sit still to the sounds of Bunoscionn, a musical love-child, mothered by Irish folk music and fathered by dance, reggae, rock, (paternity tests pending)! Enjoy Tod Doyle & The Troubled playing songs that tell stories of the realities of life. Together with the Troubled they bring a passion for real music to each live performance, drawing the listener into their world. Lynched perform gritty folksongs from the heart of Dublin city.

Throughout the night we’ll have upbeat, hopping tunes from DJs Hula Hoop and Daniel Lambert at the Blue Moon Bar while guests can sip on a complementary Blue Moon beers and enjoy Hog ‘n’ Pop’s succulent, smoky, and intensely flavoursome hog roast, served on a crusty roll with a side of Pop’s secret recipe ‘slaw and washed down with a mug of Hog’s patented mulled cider. The fantastic COPPA Cafe will be open for the duration of the evening serving their delectable food and wine also.

People can finish the evening dancing like it’s going out of fashion with the night’s special guests in the impressive surroundings of the RHA Gallery while taking part in games, mini shows, give-aways and lots of surprises. It promises to be the most electrifying, hysterical, sexy Valentine’s Night this side of the Liffey!
