Anseo / Elsewhere is a group exhibition exploring experiences of dislocation and divided presence. Artists from Cork city and county were invited to explore ideas around the experience of being physically present in one place while mentally or emotionally elsewhere.

The exhibition approaches dislocation as both a geographical and psychological experience, shaped by memory, migration, longing and the demands of contemporary life. To be “anseo” is to exist in the immediacy of the present, while simultaneously inhabiting an “elsewhere” informed by distant homes, past experiences or imagined futures.

Bringing together work across multiple disciplines, the exhibition explores themes of estrangement, fragmented perspectives and personal narrative, reflecting on the shifting relationship between place, identity and belonging.
