Another Bite of the Cherry | Wednesday 15 November – Wednesday 6 December 2017 |

Graphic Studio Dublin invites you to an exhibition of new work by more than 50 artists.

All of the original prints are uniform and size, and price – only €180 unframed, €225 framed – the perfect Christmas gift! The work is available exclusively through The National Botanic Gardens & Graphic Studio Gallery.

Each artist has explored aspects of the Gardens, to make new work in their individual style, be it portraits of particular flora or fauna, landscapes or vistas in the 19.5 hectares, the spectacular Palm House and Curvilinear Range of glasshouses, or abstract impressions made by the biodiverse environment.

The original prints, in editions of fifty, featuring etchings, woodcuts, linocuts, lithographs, carborundums and photointaglios, provide a wonderful opportunity to those who enjoy and appreciate Art and Botany to acquire a treasure from the National Botanic Gardens for themselves.

The exhibition is a follow up to our 2013 show, A Natural Selection, that drew great acclaim and public attention. We are delighted to again be working with The National Botanic Gardens for Another Bite of the Cherry.

Graphic Studio Dublin is the oldest and largest printmaking studio in Ireland. Established in 1960, and funded by The Arts Council, since our foundation we have consistently reached beyond our own shores. This show, includes many of our own members and invited artists from other Irish and international print studios. The more than 50 artists from Ireland, the UK, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Japan, Israel, New Zealand and Sweden respond to the magnificence of the National Botanic Gardens and its 20,000 species of cultivars.

In this exhibition, invited artists continue the tradition, since time immemorial, of human response to the natural world; from tomb paintings in Ancient Egypt, the frescoes in Pompeii, the scientific drawings of Leonardo Da Vinci, the etchings of Albrecht Durer to the paper cut-outs of Mrs Delaney or the striking paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe.
