Amanda Coogan: I’ll sing you a song from around the town
Limerick City Gallery of Art is delighted to present new exhibitions by two exciting, artists Amanda Coogan and Maggie Madden, both graduates of LSAD
I’ll sing you a song from around the town is a manifestation of Coogan’s, highly acclaimed exhibition at the RHA in 2015. Amanda Coogan is one of the most exciting contemporary visual artists whose practice revolves around Performance Art. Her expertise lies in her ability to condense an idea to its very essence and communicate it through her body.
Amanda Coogan has been the recipient of the AIB’s Art prize in 2004. She has performed and exhibited her work extensively including the Venice Biennale, Liverpool Biennial, IMMA, Dublin, RHA, Dublin and Uilinn, West Cork. Coogan is represented by the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin.

Amanda will present a series of durational performances in the LCGA during the exhibition. The performances will be held on Thursday 24th November 6-8pm and Friday 25th November 12 noon- 4.00pm. Further performances will take place in January 2017 – contact LCGA for information.
The publication, “I’ll sing you a song from around the town,” published jointly by RHA, Dublin, Uilinn, West Cork Arts Centre and LCGA, accompanies the exhibition and is available in the gallery reception. Price €15
