Robert Ballagh was born in Dublin in 1943. He has achieved national and international success including representing Ireland at the Paris Biennale in 1969.  Ballagh has long been inspired as an artist by 1916. The rebellion and its leaders has been a recurring subject in his work. This selection has personal resonance as he reflects on the challenges and legacy of the rebellion.
