Jane Dunn: Scratching the Surface

Jane Dunn: Scratching the Surface | Wednesday 5 July – Saturday 26 August 2017 | Ballina Arts Centre

In 2015, Jane Dunn travelled from Naples in Brasilicata National Park, Southern Italy, to stay in Noepoli, a medieval hill top village. During that visit she experienced a sensual and visual journey through tastes and smells, colours and heat, ancient towns and mountainous landscapes, old doorways, bleached plasters, frescos and archways, siennas and umbers, olive groves and tiled roofs.

Sumptuous delights filled those days and these works are her response to that journey. Paintings are on canvas, multimedia board and paper in oil, cold wax and mixed media.

Jane Dunn graduated in 1995, with a BA Honours in Fine Art, and since then has exhibited sculptures, installations, artist’s books and paintings in the UK, USA and Ireland.
